The Foolish Copy Cat (Moral Story)

Once upon a time, there was a man who lost all his money due to loss in his business. He was very depressed and decided to end his life. ''This is the last night of my life, tomorrow I will commit suicide'' he said to himself and went to sleep.
While he was asleep, he saw a dream that a monk came to him and said,"Don't end up your life. It is a sin. Tomorrow I'll visit your home, and you must hit on my head with a wooden stick, after that I'll change into gold and you will be rich again".
Next day in the morning, someone knocked at the door. The man opened the door thinking that the monk has come but it wasn't the monk, it was his neighbor. He let him come inside. "Knock..knock!" , somebody was again at the door. The man opened the door, oh! he couldn't believe his eyes.

It was the monk from his dream! The man hit on the monk's head with the stick and the miracle happened! The monk turned into gold. The man was extremely happy. His dream had come true. His neighbor saw it and was amazed! He tried to get the details of the whole incident from the man but he didn't tell him and instead replied, "You saw everything happen. It's a miracle".

The neighbor went to his home and said to himself, "Tomorrow I will invite many monks to my house and will hit them on their head and they will turn into gold. In this way I will become the richest person of the village". Next day he did the same. The monks were injured. They caught the man and informed the king about the incident.
King's soldiers came and took the man to the king. ''Why did you hit the monks ?''The king asked.
The man told the king,"I went to my neighbor's home and saw him hitting the monk who turned into gold. I just copied him. It is all his mistake".The king called the other man man and asked him to explain the whole matter. He told the king about his dream and the miracle.  " You can go, it's not your fault". King allowed him to go.
Now the king said to the man who had injured the monks, " You are a foolish and greedy person. You just copied your neighbor without thinking and hurt the monks". He put the man behind the bars.

  1. There is great wisdom in this story, Auntie!

I do not know, for sure how our species comes to life and develop, but a brain was put into our skull, as arms, legs, and body.

The last parts are easy to understand what are they for, the brain is not so easy. We like to follow the way of less resistance. Copy is easier than create, but it does not justify the presence of our brain!

Thank you for sharing so beautiful, and instructive tale.

    1. Dear Od Liam,
I am so happy to know that you liked this story. :)
You are truly right Od! It's easy to understand all the other parts but the human brain isn't really easy to understand , when you think you've understood the human psychology something or the other confuses you even more.
And yes! We always try to find shortcuts and copy others, instead of creating our own ideas.
Thank you soooo much for your kind visit, beautiful and wise words and read!

  4. A good lesson to learn here. It's better to do things our own way rather than "blindly" copying others. I never like copycats!

Thanks, Aunt Mary, for this educative story. :)

  8. Nice story, Aunt Mary. :)) That's why we should live according to our individual instinct because there is no formula of success. We should be unique and not copy someone else's way of living because it may work on them but not on us. Really great post. I enjoy reading blog that leaves a moral lesson. Plus, it was written in a creative way.

  10. A good reminder for everyone. yes, sometimes we get envious of other people but it doesn't mean we have to 'copy' their ways.
