The Lame Excuse (Short Story)

It was a bright sunny morning . Monty's mom went into his room to wake him up . "Monty, Monty come on, get up , it's 8.30 now ."

" Mom please let me sleep ,I am not feeling well , my head is spinning I think I have fever too.''Monty covered his face with the blanket ."Oh let me see, mom said" ."
No mom please do not disturb me, let me take some rest , I will not be able to go to school today" . "But Monty", mom tried to say some thing ... "Oh, no mom please don't say anything I can't go to school , I really am not feeling well , please leave me alone ", Monty said in a weak voice .
"But dear ,you do not have to go to school today It's Sunday.I am going to call the doctor", Mommy said .
"Oh no! how could I forget that! No mom you don't need to call the doctor, I think I am feeling better now !" Monty at once  jumped out of the bed , "Can you please get my breakfast ready? I have to go to play football with my friends", Monty said and rushed in to the bathroom.Mom held her head! "Oh boy you are just too much.

  1. I enjoyed reading this. Typical of children making excuses when they had planned for other things to do. Reminds me when I was a child. Nice post. :)

  3. This is a true story, and I think most of us keep inventing excuses to avoid what we do not like to do, disregarding our stage in life! :)

Don't you think so, Auntie? :))
