My dear children, do you know which is the 'Fastest Dog' in the world' ?It is Greyhound.
This dog is also known as 'the world's fastest couch potato. The main reason to own this dog is to use it for the dog race.It has long powerful legs , slim strong body, wide chest and flexible spine . All these qualities make it wonderful racing dog and fastest dog too .Greyhound can run with a speed of 18 meters per second or 59 feet per second or 63 kilometers per hour. It can amazingly accelerate it's speed to 70 kilo meters per hour.Greyhound's racing was first introduced in England and United States during 1920.

When the Greyhound is retired from racing it is kept as a family pet in homes . This dog is a wonderful pet .Greyhound tends to chase small moving things like balls or moving toys .The life span of this is 10-13 years. It is gentle, loving, brave and intelligent dog. It feels uncomfortable when some one talks or behaves rudely with him. He is a well behaved and well mannered dog.

I love dogs...We have Akita, Labrador and native dogs (AsPin). I know nothing about Greyhound but it's really good to learn more about them. Thanks for sharing!

ReplyDeleteThank you Susan for reading and commenting :)
DeleteMost of the people I know are fond of dogs. Some prefer them big, others like them to be smart, and even there are those who want their pets small and easy to handle, so they can have it in their arms.
ReplyDeleteI like them all, I used to have a Saint Bernard in the isle, it was a kind, intelligent dog, I sill remember it with fondness.
Now, it is impossible for me to own a pet, unless it is flea, or a fly! It is a pity. I hope that in my Golden Years I can own a partner to chat and not to be interrupted! :
Very good article, Auntie, I have seen greyhounds but never have been too close to them. Now, I learned something about them.
I always enjoy your beautiful comments Od, Thank you so very much for your kind visit and words :)
DeleteI don't know much about dogs and I can't differentiate them by names except for a bulldog cos I was chased by it once! We really learn something when we experience it, right?
