Nothing is Impossible ( Moral Story)

The Thirsty Crow-Moral Story

Let us enjoy the story of a thirsty crow.

Once, on a hot summer day, a crow was flying in the sky.

The crow felt thirsty,he landed on the ground and searched for water    everywhere.
After searching hard, he found a pitcher. He looked into it  and found that there was very little water at the bottom of the pot. The crow tried to get the water by putting his beak inside the pitcher. But unfortunately the water was out of his reach.

The poor thirsty crow thought that he would die due to thirst. But he did not want to give up. He looked around to find a way to get out of this situation.
The crow saw some pebbles on the ground. He thought for a while and started to pick up the pebbles and dropped them into the pitcher one by one, that caused the level of water to rise and soon the water came up.The thirsty crow drank the water and flew away happily.

Moral of the story- Nothing is Impossible

Don't Count Your Chickens Before They Hatch (Moral Story)

Milkmaid and her pail

Once there lived a milkmaid in a small old town. Everyday early in the morning she milked the cow and sold the milk in the market. One day the milkmaid was going on her way to sell the milk.
She carried a pail on her head which was full of fresh milk.
''Today the cow has given more milk than she normally does, how good it will be if she gives some more milk everyday.
That means I will  get some extra money everyday.'' The milkmaid muttered happily.''With that money I will buy some hens.
I will take a good care of the hens. The hens will lay eggs and when the eggs will hatch, healthy chickens will come out from those eggs.'' The young milkmaid couldn't stop thinking.'' When they grow up I will sell those chickens in the market at a good price and with that money I will buy more hens. More hens means more chickens and more money.Oh! I will become so rich. The  milkmaid continued making plans. ''I am young and beautiful and now I will become rich too. Every handsome young man of the town will want to marry me but I will say yes to the man that I like the most,
she nodded her head to say yes, and as she moved her head the pail of milk fell down and broke and the milk flowed away. Poor milkmaid, she shouldn't have counted her chickens before hatching.

All That Glitters is Not Gold ( Moral Story)

A camel herder taking care of his camel

In a beautiful desert there lived a camel herder in a village. He had a herd of camels. The camel herder was a kind man and he looked after the camels very well. There was a camel in the herd who was very beautiful and had a red spot on his head which made him look different from other camels. He was the favorite of his master too.
The red headed camel was very popular among the people of the village. They called him''The camel with red head.''

There was a city near that village. Everyday  the camel used to pass by that city with his camels to reach his home from workplace. Each time the camel with red head saw the fast moving colorful vehicles, the wide roads and high buildings of the city he got so fascinated by the city's vibrance. One evening, when they returned home from that way, the camel got thrilled again on seeing the bright colorful lights of the city.

''What a lovely and exciting place. The city looks so beautiful from here. How good it would be if I go to the city and see it by  myself.",the camel thought.

One Day when the camel herder was passing by the city with the camels, the camel with red head escaped from there and reached the city.
He entered the city with great excitement.

The city was crowded with lots of people and there were vehicles on the road everywhere. The atmosphere there was noisy, filthy and smoky. The camel who lived in the peaceful climate of the desert got so confused and scared to see all this.He remained standing in a corner.
Some people saw him, they caught the camel and one of them gifted the camel to his friend who was a stable owner.

There were all horses in the stable. The camel felt so lonely there. He missed his friends a lot.

Every day the camel's new master gave him hey and dry grains to eat which he didn't like at all. He missed the delicious dates, oats and wheat  that his old master used to give him in the desert.

He missed the soft under his feet sandy ground of desert whenever he walked.

The camel couldn't  adapt to his new life. He missed each and every thing of his past life.

He cursed himself for leaving the desert and coming to the city. He always felt sad and gloomy. The red headed camel stopped eating anything and became so week and idle, he kept crying all the time.

A sad camel is crying, tears are falling

Fortunately one day a man came there to meet the stable owner. That man was from the same village where the camel used to live.
The villager recognized the camel by the red spot on his head.''Oh! That is the camel with red head, that's my friend's camel!"

"How did you find him?" , he asked the stable owner.

The stable owner told him how he got the camel and said that the camel was of no use to him and he doesn't want to keep him any more.''
''You can take the camel to his master, he is not happy here.'', the stable owner said to his guest.

The man went near the camel and caressed the camel's head. Camel also recognized the man from his village and grunted happily.
The villager took the camel with him to the village where it's master lived. The camel's master became so glad to find his lost camel.
The camel was so happy and relieved to get his old life back. He had gone through a bad phase of life but he learnt a valuable lesson that- 'All that Glitters is not Gold'

Oh! There is another dog like me, he is also carrying a piece of cheese. I will have two pieces of cheese if I get that piece too.''

Greed is a Curse (Moral Story)

Once upon a time in a village there lived a poor man with his wife. They kept some hens as pets and sold their eggs to earn their living.
One day the man was returning home from the market and on the way he saw a goose wandering here and there, it looked like she had lost her way.
''How healthy and beautiful goose is this! It will be good for us if I take it home with me'', thought the man.  He caught the goose and took her home along with him. His wife became so glad to see the goose
''We have only hens as pets, now we have a goose too! So we can sell the goose eggs also. I am sure we can make some  good  money by selling the eggs''  Said the woman happily to her husband.

Next morning when the man and his wife went in the backyard to collect the eggs, they were amazed to see that ''the goose had laid a golden egg.''

''Oh! this goose is not an ordinary goose! It is the golden goose because It laid a golden egg!'' They got so happy. The man sold the egg in the market and got a good amount of money.

The goose laid a golden egg everyday and the man and his wife earned a lot of money by selling the golden eggs in the market.
They were no more poor and were living a very happy and good life because of that goose.
But as they say ''Much wants more''
The man was not satisfied with what he had, he became greedy and wanted more money.
He said to his wife,''The golden goose lays a golden egg everyday, it must have a big lump of gold in its inside... if we cut open the goose's stomach we can get that lump of gold and become very rich.'' He killed the goose and having done so he found that it was like any other goose there was no lump of gold inside it.
The foolish and greedy man who wanted to become rich all at once lost his everyday gain. The goose that laid the golden eggs for them  was dead and now they had no golden eggs any more.

God Helps Those Who Help Themselves( Moral Story)

Once three farmer brothers and their old mother lived in a village. They were simple and hard working  people. They had a nice vegetable farm and were living a happy life.

Unfortunately a flood came and destroyed their village.

Thankfully the farmer family managed to gather their savings and some belongings.
Now they decided to migrate somewhere else.
''Let's go to my parents' village'' ,said the old woman, I have some share in my late parents' land. I will ask my brother to give me my share. We can start farming there. "
The woman  reached her parents' home with her sons.

She asked her brother for her share. Her brother was selfish and mean. He kept all the good parts of land with him and gave her sister a small piece of land where there were no sources of water available around.
''You can stay here for few days but make your own arrangements as soon as possible.", he told his sister and nephews rudely.
The woman got so disappointed with her brother.

"Don't worry mother, we must be satisfied with what we have got and shouldn't waste our time in fighting and complaining. Let's think about getting out of this place.'' ,said the eldest son.
First they made a small shelter in a corner of their land and started  living there. Somehow they managed to collect water for drinking and other uses. But farming needs a lot of water, how could they get water to farm?
They kept their worries for water aside and started tilling the land.

The three brothers worked  very hard every day.
''We are almost done with tilling , only a small portion of land is left. Now we need water for planting seeds.''  Second brother got so tensed.
"Have faith in God , hopefully we will solve this problem." the elder brother told his younger brother.

Next day when the youngest of the three brothers was digging the soil he saw the fresh reed grass in a corner. The presence of reed grass indicated that there was water under the ground.

The thrilled young man called his mother and his brothers '' Look there, that is reed grass!''
"Oh! That means there is water here! Reed grows near water.", the mother exclaimed happily.
  ''God showed them the way.''

''We don't need to worry about water anymore , I am sure we will  get water on our own land.'' ,eldest brother was hopeful as always.

The brave and laborious brothers started to dig the soil to find  water. After the continuous labor and hard work of several days they reached the water table.

The  efforts of the three young men finally paid off. The difficult time was over and the good days were about to come soon.

United We Stand, Divided We Fall ( Moral Story )

Once upon a time a man lived in a village with his three sons. All three of them were good, hardworking fellows. The old man  had no complaint with them except that they fought with each other all the time.
'They fought for every single reason , big or small.'

The poor old man always told them to stop fighting with each other and to stay united but all his efforts failed. He got so worried, ''My sons fight all the time even in front of my eyes, what will they do after I die! I have to do something about their quarrels. He continued thinking.
Next day he called his three sons, when they came he gave a bundle of sticks to his elder son, ''Come on let me see if you can break it or not ?''
The elder son tried but couldn't break the sticks.
"Now it's your turn." , said the old man to his second son. ''Break it.''
The second son tried with all his strength to break the bundle but he failed too.
"Can you break these sticks my son ?" , asked the father to his youngest son .
The young man tried so hard but did not succeed.
Now the old man took back the bundle of sticks and separated the sticks and gave one stick each to his sons and told them to break it.
The three boys very easily broke the stick.
Listen my boys said the old man to his sons,'' You become as weak as a single stick when you are divided, but when you are united you are as strong as a bundle of sticks . So  if you want to be strong and powerful do not fight with each other and stay united.''
The three young men had now learnt a big lesson of life. They promised their father that they will not fight again and will maintain their unity as brothers in the upcoming life.

Where There Is a Will There is a Way( Moral Story)

Once there was a bird catcher who would catch different kinds of birds. He trained them to sing and talk and then he sold the birds to other people. He wandered from one place to another to catch and sell the birds.
One day he caught a beautiful parrot and put him in a cage. The parrot got so scared and anxious as his freedom was taken away from him.He felt helpless and couldn't understand that what would he do now. His life was completely changed in a few seconds.
Few moments back he was flying freely in the blue sky and now he was in a prison.

The  parrot gathered his courage and told himself, '' I should not lose hope,  I have to find a way to get out of this cage and become free again.
The bird catcher started giving training of talking and singing to  the parrot  and the poor one had to learn that because if he would not the cruel man would poke him with stick. Soon the parrot began to talk and sing well.

One day when the bird seller was selling the birds on the street a man came to him and said ,'' Do you have a talking parrot who can sing as well? I want to give that as a gift to my wife."
"Yes sir , of course I have a parrot which can talk and sing beautifully. I am sure your wife will be very happy to have that parrot."
He showed that parrot to the man and said to the parrot, "Come on , you little parrot, sing a song for this gentleman."
"Maybe this is the chance for me to get rid of this cruel bird catcher and to get my freedom back.", thought the little parrot.
He sang a beautiful song in a sweet and melodious voice .The man got so impressed that he bought the parrot for his wife.
He reached home with the parrot and told his wife that he had bought a talking and singing parrot for her. The woman was so happy to get the gift.
The man said sweetly, ''Come on little parrot ,say hello to madam and sing a song for her.'' The parrot said nothing and kept quiet. "Maybe he has got scared , because he is at a new place with new people. We will try later.", said the man.
Next day the man and his wife again spoke to the parrot but he did not say anything. Maybe he will speak after some days. A whole week passed but the parrot did not speak a single word .
Now the woman lost her temper and said to her husband, '' You lied to me, this parrot can't talk , he is dumb.I will not keep this useless bird in my home. She opened the door of the cage and shouted at the little parrot, '' Get out from here! You are good for nothing!''
The parrot came out of the cage and flew away in the sky.

A Long Time ago there lived a woodcutter in a village. The village was near a big jungle. Everyday the woodcutter would go to the jungle to cut wood. His wife would pack some home cooked food for the lunch.
One day when the wood cutter was eating his meal in the jungle , he saw a lion coming there.  He got so frightened to see the lion but had no way to get away.
''This is the end of my life'', thought the woodcutter.

But he got  surprised when the lion did not attack him and asked,
"What are you eating ? It smells so good."
''God has given me a chance to save my life.'' said the woodcutter to himself  and respectfully answered,''O king of jungle my wife cooked this food,I will be very happy if you have it.''
The food looked so tempting that the lion couldn't resist himself from eating it.He enjoyed the tasty meal and said to the woodcutter, '' Your wife is an excellent cook , you are very lucky to be eating such delicious food."
Now woodcutter said ,'' I bring my lunch pack with me daily, why don't you come and join me for lunch everyday?"
"Oh! That's very kind of you. It will be a great pleasure for me.", said the lion.
From the next day the woodcutter and the lion started eating together  and they became very good friends. The lion was so happy that he could eat tasty cooked food instead of raw flesh. There was no need for him to search the prey.
Lion's friends, fox and crow got so upset because earlier when the lion used to hunt his prey, they would eat the left over flesh  and now when the lion was no more hunting they had to search their own food. They both were so lazy and clever and did not want to make any efforts to get their food.
They went to the lion and said ,'' Sir, why are you not hunting these days ?Where do you go everyday to fill your stomach?"Lion          refused to tell them anything but the fox and crow were cunning animals, they insisted so much and the lion told them everything.

''O our king please take us with you so that we can have a few bites of the tasty food.''
Lion agreed to do so as they both were his friends for a long time.He did not know that his sly friends were planning to kill and eat the woodcutter.
Next day when the lion went to the woodcutter, he was not    alone the fox and the crow were with him too.

The woodcutter was waiting for the lion to come but when he saw the lion was coming with a fox and a crow he climbed up a nearby tree. The lion came and said, ''Why did you climb up to the tree? Why are you getting scared? I am your friend please come down."
"No I will not.", said the woodcutter ''You promised me to come alone and now you have come with these cunning creatures. I am sure that they have misdirected you with their sweet -talks. They must have come with a bad intention I can't trust them. They are clever and  they can influence you to kill me. I can't put my life in danger.''
When the lion ,fox and crow went away, the woodcutter came down and went home.

TIME AND TIDE WAIT FOR NONE (Moral Story)

In a beautiful place, there lived a shawl- weaver with his two sons. He weaved shawls and sold them in the market. He made lovely patterns on shawls and he taught the art of shawl weaving very well to both his sons.
Time passed by ..... the weaver grew older and weaker.
One day he called his two sons and said to them, '' My dear children, now I have become old and weak  and as you know every one has to leave his loved ones one day and I am no exception, but before that I want to give the equal shares of  my savings to both of you and with the help of this money you can start the work of weaving to earn a living after my death.
On one sad day of winter the weaver passed away.

It was a great loss for both young men but they had to recover from the sorrow to move on in their lives.

The elder brother said to his younger brother '' Now we should concentrate on our work, summer is coming and a lot of tourists come to visit our valley in this season , it will be a good chance for us to earn some good amount of money by selling shawls to them.''
The younger brother who  was a careless and lazy kind of guy , said, '' There are months for tourist season to come , I will do it later.''
The elder brother decided to start the work of weaving , he bought some fine wool and started making shawls.

He told his younger brother, '' Little brother, I have begun my work you should start weaving too, so that we can make some good shawls before the tourist season.''
''I told you , I will do it later , now leave me alone.'', said the younger brother and went to enjoy the company of his friends.
Elder brother did not forget his duty... after some time he again reminded his sibling, '' Bro you haven't started yet , it is a short time left for summer to arrive you should hurry up.'' But got disappointed to get the same answer.

Days flew away like wind, winter gave way to spring ......... Ah.. the summer was too close.
Now the younger brother  rushed to the market, bought the wool and started  weaving, but it was too late. How could he make some fine shawls like his brother in such a short period of time? The
quality of his shawls was poor and they were not not good- looking at all.
On the other hand the elder one was ready to sell his beautiful shawls.

The Tourist season came...... at the market , everyone was keen to buy the beautiful shawls of elder brother and was ready to pay  the desired prize but nobody was interested in taking the shawls made by younger brother.
He realized his fault but  nothing could be done now.

He did not listen to his elder brother, he wasted the time and the money of his share. Sadly.. the upcoming days were going to be very difficult for him.
As the old saying goes''Time and Tide wait for none.''
