Birds are found in every part of the world. They live in plains, mountains, jungles, gardens, sea shores, river banks , cliff faces and on the roofs of houses too.They are warm blooded creatures and they lay eggs. There are more than 9000 species of birds in the world.
Here are some interesting facts about birds-
Most of the birds have hollow bones with air sacks in them,it makes them lighter, so they can fly easily.
They have high body temperature and they use a lot of energy so they have to eat lots of food compare to their weight.

Scientists believe that birds evolved from theropod dinosaurs.
Some birds have the ability to create tools and to use them.
Birds are of many sizes from the Bee Hummingbird that is only 60 mm long to the Ostrich which stands 2.5 metres high.
The only bird which can swim but cannot fly is penguin . It is also the only bird which can walk upright.
They don't have teeth , they have strong beaks instead of teeth.

Many species of birds migrate to high latitude in the season of spring and summer. In the months of autumn and winter they migrate to the places of low latitude.

I didn't know scientists believe birds evolved from a type of dinosaur. Fascinating! I'm looking that up to learn more about that type of dinosaur. I learned something new today!
