My dear children, most of you must have heard of "Taj Mahal", one of the seven wonders of the world and many of you must have visited Taj. Taj Mahal is an extremely beautiful building built of pure white marble , it is located at the city of Agra in the state of U.P, India .Taj Mahal was built in the 17th century by Mughal emperor Shahjahan in the memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal ."TAJ MAHAL" means crown of palaces , it is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site .
The construction of Taj Mahal was started in 1632 and was completed in 1653 .It took 22 years to complete the building .The main architect was Ustad Ahmad Lahouri. The design of this building is a fusion of Islamic, Hindu and Persian architecture. The height of the building is 71 meters. Twenty thousand of craftsmen, artisans and workers worked day and night to transform the emperor's dream into reality. It is situated on the banks of river Yamuna. The emperor spent 32 million rupees at that time (17th century) for the construction of this building.
When you enter Taj's compound, you can't believe on your eyes that it is real. It's beauty is so divine, that you can't express it in words. You just are able to say "WOW"! One's eyes get stuck on the Taj.
You can't take your eyes off the Marble Glory! If you see Taj in the moonlight you will find it shining like a jewel. When the moonlight falls on the white marble structure it's beauty is beyond belief.
Tourists from all over the world come to see the Taj Mahal. Among them are Presidents of many countries, leaders, big celebrities and artistes.
The emperor Shahjahan loved his wife Mumtaz Mahal very much. She was an extremely beautiful lady that is why the emperor named her Mumtaz Mahal. The word 'Mumtaz' means 'Unique'. The queen died after giving birth to one of her children. Shahjahan was in deep shock after losing his beloved wife. It is said that due to sadness the emperor's hair turned white in one night.
After Queen's death Shahjahan decided to build this tomb at the place where Mumtaz Mahal was buried. After the death of emperor he was buried besides the grave of his queen in Taj Mahal.
The immortal love of an emperor gave this world a marvelous piece of architectural beauty and a splendid monument of love.

Once there was a big jamun tree on the bank of a river .The tree was home for many monkeys . Monkeys were very fond of sweet, ripe and delicious jamuns (purple colored sweet fruit) of that tree . Among those monkeys was a monkey named ' Pintu ' . He was very naughty. One day Pintu was swinging on the tree and singing a song . He saw a crocodile in the water . The crocodile said to the monkey, "You sing so well, your voice is sweet and melodious . " Pintu was so pleased to hear this. He said, "I have a sweet voice because I eat the sweet fruits of this tree , would you like to taste some ?". He threw some jamuns towards the crocodile which he tasted , "Wow what a delightful fruit it is ! You are so good , thank you so much for giving me these tasty fruits.''
Next day the crocodile came again and Pintu gave him fruits to eat . Soon the crocodile made this his routine to go there and eat the jamuns . Sometimes Pintu gave him some fruits for his wife too. Crocodile's wife ate those fruits and said to the crocodile, "These fruits are so delicious! The monkey eats these fruits daily so his flesh must be very tasty. Specially his heart. Now I want to eat that monkey's heart. If you want to see me happy then bring the heart of the monkey for me".
Next morning, crocodile came and said, " Dear friend, my wife is so happy to receive your gift of fruits and she has invited you to our home for lunch. Monkey said, " But how can I go there, I cannot swim". Crocodile answered, " Don't worry! I will carry you on my back.
The crocodile carried him on his back and when they reached in the middle of the river, the wicked crocodile tried to drown the monkey in the river. The monkey became scared and said, " Are you trying to kill me?". " Yes I want to kill you.", the crocodile said rudely. He was totally a changed creature now. " But why?", the terrified monkey asked. " I want to kill you because I want your heart for my wife as she wants to eat it". Though the monkey was scared but he did not lose courage.''I must do something to save my life'' he thought. He said to the crocodile, "You don't need to kill me for that. We monkeys can keep our heart outside our body. We can survive without our heart. I have kept my heart in my tree house. You take me there and I will give my heart to you. It will be my pleasure, after all you are my friend!"
As soon as they reached near the river bank , the monkey jumped from the crocodile's back and at once climbed up the tree. He said, " You liar! You have deceived me! I tell you the truth, I have not kept my heart outside . How can any one live without his heart ? Now go away and never show your face to me again!"

Once there was.. a naughty little chicken,
he went out without mommy hen.
Hopped on ground, ran on the grass
very much enjoyed going around flowers.
He liked playing and running alone,
chicken felt like boss of his own.
He went here, he went there,
and roamed around every where.
While roaming around ,
naughty chicken found,
that east or west

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon . Alia was returning home with her parents after having lunch in her favorite restaurant. Their car stopped at traffic signal . Suddenly Alia saw a bird seller
who was selling beautiful small birds . "Look papa !How Beautiful birds!" ,she cried with excitement . The bird seller came near their car and said "Sir please buy a bird for your kid, she will be very happy" . "Yes please, papa I want a bird , please buy one bird for me!", Alia insisted . "No, no I am not going to buy the bird it is not right to keep it in a cage like that" . Alia used her best weapon, she started crying as all children do when their parents deny to fulfill their demands . Papa became annoyed , he could not find a way to handle the situation . Alia was continuously crying and insisting for buying the bird . Mommy whispered in Papa's ear, " Let her buy the bird, after some time I will convince her to free the bird". At last Papa agreed to buy a bird for Alia though he was not happy with it at all. Alia was extremely happy that she got the bird! She called her friends home, and showed the bird to them.
Many days passed, life was going on normally. One day after returning from school Alia was not feeling well. Mommy took her to the doctor. Doctor told that Alia has got viral fever and she needs to stay at home and take rest for some days. In just two days Alia got bored of staying at home all the time. She couldn't go to school, she couldn't go to park for playing. Her friends' parents did not allow them to go to Alia's house to play as it was a viral disease. She had to eat light and simple food like porridge, milk and bread.
She said to her mother, " I am tired of lying on bed all the day and eating the boring food. I want to go out and play with my friends. I want to eat my favorite food". Mommy replied, " You should do that after you recover from your sickness". At that time an idea came in Mommy's mind to make the little bird free. She said to Alia very politely, " My dear girl, in just two days you got bored of staying at one place, think about that little bird in the cage
which can not go out, can not meet her family and friends. She is unable to eat the favorite fruits which she could eat when she was free. Can't you relate yourself with that bird in this situation?" . Alia looked at the bird in the cage and she realized how sad the bird was . The little bird was looking at her with her innocent eyes. Alia felt that she was saying, " Please make me free. Please let me go out and fly in the open sky. Kindly give me back my freedom". Alia got up from the bed, took the cage, went to the balcony and opened the door of the cage. The little bird flew away in the sky! Little Alia now had understood the importance of freedom.
