SHIP OF THE DESERT: CAMEL

My dear children, today I want to tell you something about camel. Camel is basically a desert animal. Deserts are the driest places on the earth where the days are extremely hot and nights are freezing. Desert is a place with no water and is one of the harshest habitats on earth.
Camels have adapted well to the desert environment. They can live without water for several months. There is a pouch in their stomach to store water. When they are very thirsty they use this water.

The thick furry skin of a camel protects it from the burning rays of the sun. There are humps on the back of the camels. These humps store fat for the times when there is shortage of food. It can keep its nostrils closed to keep out sand. The camel's wide feet stops it from sinking in the soft sand. It runs so fast on the sandy land of desert that's why it is also called the ship of the desert.

"A Dream Came True"

It was Saturday night Lisa came back home late with her parents from a birthday party,she was so tired,she went straight to her room and soon fell asleep and got lost in the world of dreams.

She was in a strange but wonderful place,little beautiful fairies were swinging on the fruitful branches of trees .Cute faced dwarfs who wore funny colorful clothes and fur caps were singing,glow worms were shining,flowers were lovely and filled with dainty scents.All among the fairies the most beautiful fairy was mother fairy who dressed in white her wings were golden,she had a silver wand in her hands.There was a kind lovely smile on her face,her soft face was glowing.She said to Lisa in her melodious voice,"Oh little girl,welcome to the fairy land,do you have any wish?"Lisa said,"Yes mother fairy". Mother fairy said,"Tell me your wish my child, I will fulfill it".

Lisa said,"I want a new pink dress with frills on it and white shiny shoes and a white matching hairband with stars on it". "O.k. Dear as you wish", Mother fairy said with a lovely smile.

"Lisa.....Lisa come on get up dear its already nine"
Lisa slowly opened her eyes and got up, "Oh my God I was dreaming",she was still feeling sleepy.Her mother was standing in front of her,there was a gift pack in her hands."Here is a surprise for you my child",mother said."What surprise?..Lisa asked."Come on open up the gift",mother said.She opened the gift pack and what did she see ?There was a lovely pink dress with frills on it,shiny white shoes and a beautiful white hair band.She hugged mummy and said,"OH ! MOMMY YOU ARE MY MOTHER FAIRY".

STARS IN THE SKY!!

When you look at sky in the night,
You will find stars are bright.

Some are different from the others,
Some are similar like twin brothers.

Number of stars are looking so small,
Few of them are bigger than all.

Some looking shy and some looking bold,
New are shiny dim are old.

They all make a wonderful sight
When you look at sky in the night.

Common Torpedo (The Fish Which Gives Electric Shock)

Dear children, you all are familiar with fishes. Fishes live in rivers, lakes, ponds and seas. Nature has made the fish in such a way that they are perfectly suited to their underwater life.There are many kind of fishes such as goldfish, dart fish, puffer fish, sharks, bony fish, catfish and a lot of other fishes.
One of these fishes is Common Torpedo. It is found in Mediterranean sea and Atlantic ocean.This fish is about 24 inches long. It has five blue spots on its back. It's tale is short and thick. When an enemy attacks it, the common torpedo fish gives a strong electric shock to defend itself.It also uses the shock to attack it's prey. The shock given by common torpedo is to 200 volts. Torpedo eats bony fishes.A device is also named after torpedo.

THE MISER MAN ( Moral Story)

Dear children, this is the story of a miser man .Once upon a time there was a man who was very wealthy and rich . He had a lot of money and a treasure of gold coins, ornaments and precious stones .But he was a very miser man he always wanted to spend very less money ,even the money which he gave to his wife to run the house was not even sufficient to fulfill the basic needs of the family.

Though he was very rich but his wife and children were living a life of poverty. He had a maid servant who he never paid on time and used to give her a very small salary .The maid was loyal towards the rich man's wife and children so she did not quit the job .One day the man thought maybe someone could steal his treasure so he went to the back yard and buried the treasure box under a tree.By chance a thief saw him doing so.When the man went back, the thief came and stole the treasure .Next morning the rich man went there and saw that his treasure had been stolen.He started crying loudly.A hermit saw him crying and asked him the reason.The man told him that someone had stolen his treasure box.The Hermit said,"Tell me the whole story,why did you bury the treasure? Don't hide anything from me,so that I can help you".The man told him everything.Meanwhile rich man's wife, his children and the maid came there. Hermit was a very learned man,and after listening what the rich man said and seeing the condition of his family members he immediately understood what the real matter was . He said to the man,"You are nothing but just a greedy and miser person .God almighty made you a rich and wealthy man but you did not share your wealth even with your family and the other person who serves you and helps you.You do not give them what they deserve being the family of a rich man like you. You have lost your treasure but that is a lesson for you, if you understand. Give your family members their rights, and not just your family, share your money and wealth with the people who deserve your help, the poor, the needy, the sick people.By the grace of God you will earn a lot of money if you continue doing this good deed throughout your life ."

After saying that, the hermit went from there. The miser man apologized to his family and maid servant, he was a completely changed man now .He took them to the market and bought a lot of gifts for them ,he also distributed the gifts among poor people around there.He decided that he will always remain the same in his upcoming life.His wife and children were the happiest people on the earth.

Biggest Flower of The World - Rafflesia

"Rafflesia is the largest flower in the world.It is also known as corpse flower,these flowers are 3 feet in diameter that means by width and length they are very large.
Rafflesia was first found in the Rain forest of Indonesia by an Indonesian guide. Apart from Indonesia it is also found in Thailand,Philippines and some other places of Southern Asia.It is the biggest single flower on the Earth, the strange thing about this flower is that it smells like dead animal or any rotten object that's why flies are attracted to it,it has no stem ,no leaves or true roots. Rafflesia is the official State flower of Indonesia.

EVERYONE IS UNIQUE ( Moral Story)

Moral Story

Sara and Molly were cousins and were best friends too. They were in the same class.Sara was a pretty looking girl but Molly was not as pretty as Sara.Because Sara was a beautiful girl everyone praised her for her beauty and even in the school their classmates gave more importance to Sara than Molly.
A play was to be held in their school and Sara was chosen for the role of a beautiful princess,all the children congratulated Sara for being selected for the main role. Though Molly loved Sara very much and she was very happy for her but at the same time she was feeling ignored and left alone.

''Why you looking so sad,'' Molly's class teacher asked her.
She told her class teacher what she felt.

The teacher said to her,"Look Molly,the outer beauty of one is not everything,God has given us many other qualities and talents. Maybe Sara is more beautiful than you by appearance and she is appreciated for her beauty, this is her quality. But you too have your own qualities.I know you have a beautiful voice and you sing very well.The annual singing competition is going to be held in our school next week, I want you to take part in the competition.I am sure that you will do very well."
Molly was feeling relaxed and happy after listening to her class teacher. She gave her name for the singing competition.
Molly sang beautifully in the competition and got the first prize.Her parents and teachers all were very proud of her.

There was also a competition among all the children to congratulate her first . Everyone wanted to be friends with Molly. Molly was a happy girl now.

It was a beautiful, bright day of winter.Lion 'the king of jungle' was sleeping on the soft grass-bed under the sun. By the time a little mouse came there and started playing,running and jumping here and there. The disturbing noise made by him woke up the lion,he saw the mouse and shouted, "You worthless tiny creature.. you dared to wake me up! I will kill you".

The little mouse started shivering with fear and said in a weak and trembling voice, "Oh my king,Please forgive me for this mistake, I didn't notice that you were sleeping here,if you forgive me now I promise you that someday I will help you like a true friend when you need me.
Lion laughed loudly,"Ha ha ha.. you little mouse.. you are just good for nothing, you will help me in need?This is the biggest joke I have ever heard in my life,I set you free because you made me laugh". The mouse thanked the lion for his kindness.

After some days a lion hunter came into the forest and caught the lion in a net.Lion roared with anger but he soon realized that his anger couldn't save him, he cried with pain!By chance the little mouse was passing by,he heard the lion's cry, went near the lion and said,"Don't worry king I will cut the net and will get you out of the net".
Soon the mouse cut the net and the lion was out of it,grateful lion said to the mouse,"Please forgive me my little friend for what I said about you"."Now I have understood that any creature whether it is small or big has its own importance. You helped me in need ,from now on you will always be my friend".Now the lion and mouse are very good friends.
Moral of the story- A friend in need is a friend indeed

A Good deed is never lost (Moral Story)

Moral Story

A long time ago a little boy lived in a village with his grandmother in a small hut. They love each other very much. They had a small piece of land , on which they grew vegetables and used to sell them in the village market by which they earned a small amount of money that wasn't enough to fulfill all their needs. Though they were poor but were very kind and helpful by nature. They were always ready to help others.

One day the small boy was going somewhere, on the way he saw that some thorny sticks were lying in the middle of the path. The boy thought that someone could get hurt by these thorns. He threw them away so that no one would get hurt. An angel was flying in the sky, she saw the boy doing that. She landed on the earth and disguised herself as an old man. Angel went to the boy and said to him, " You have a heart of gold my child. I want to give you a reward for the good deed you have done." She then gave him some seeds and said, " Go and plant these seeds on your land."

The boy went to his grandmother and told her all that happened. Grandmother planted the seeds in their garden and after that they went to sleep. Next day when they woke up in the morning they went to their garden and what they saw was very surprising and wonderful. Where they had planted the seeds there was a big tree whose branches were laden with beautiful, red colored fruits.

Both grandma and the little boy ate the fruits which were delicious than apple, sweeter than kiwi, tastier than oranges. Grandma filled up a basket with fruits and asked the boy to go and sell them in the market. Soon the boy returned with empty basket as he sold all the fruits and got a good amount of money. Now everyday they sell the fruits and earn their living easily and they were no more poor. All their difficulties were over now and their good time had arrived.

THE MOON

My dear children, you see the moon in sky almost every night. All of us like to watch the moon and enjoy the lovely moonlight. The moon is a ball of rocks that goes around the earth. You know? Moon is our nearest neighbor in space. One thing amazing about moon is that it doesn't have its own light, it is lit up by the sun as it goes around the sun. Moon is actually very large in size but it is too far from the Earth so it looks very small.

If you go to the moon,you feel 6 times lighter than you feel on the Earth so it is possible for you to jump 6 times higher on the moon than on the Earth.The moon has rocks and dust on its surface.

You see the moon in different shapes because you can see only that part of the moon that is reflecting the light of the sun,we cannot see the part of the moon where the light of the Sun doesn't reach.There is no wind or rain on the moon.The first person to land on the moon was Neil Armstrong.

Sad Grandpa Becomes Happy

Mona is a little 11 years old girl, she lives in a beautiful house with her parents. She is a happy and friendly kind of girl. Some time ago a sad thing happened to her that her beloved grandmother passed away. She loved her very much. Her grandmother lived in their hometown with her grandfather. Now after her grandmother's death her grandfather is left alone in his house. So Mona's parents took her grandfather along with them. Mona is very happy that her grandfather will now live in their house. Mona's parents and she herself takes care of her grandpa very well.

One day when Mona came back to home after school, she went into her grandpa's room. She realized that grandpa was looking sad. She asked him, " Why are you looking so sad grandpa? Aren't you feeling happy here?" Grandpa answered, " No my child, I am very happy with all of you, you all are very good and take care of me very well and make me feel very comfortable. But the thing is that when you go to school and your parents go to their work at that time I feel very lonely. In my old town I had many friends to spend time with but here I have no friends."

In the evening when Mona's mom and dad returned to home she discussed this matter with them and said to them," If you don't mind I have an idea by which grandpa will not feel lonely after we leave the house. You know about my friend Maria's grandfather who lives nearby, Maria told me that he has the same problem. We can make them meet so that they become friends and they can go to each other's place and can spend time with each other."

Next day they all went to Maria's house for a small get-together, grandpa was very happy to find a person of his own age group. Now the grandpas of both the girls are very good friends. They spend time with each other, discuss current issues and play cards. They are very happy and no longer feel lonely. Both the families are happy and satisfied because the senior most member of the family is happy.
